ETW Exam – European Tree Worker
The European Tree Worker exam can also be taken without our preparatory training programs – provided the admission criteria of the European Arboricultural Council (EAC) are met.
Resit exam: Not all parts passed? No problem – failed exam parts can be retaken a maximum of 2 times within 2 years. If the last exam was more than 2 years ago, the entire exam must be repeated.
Registration deadline: 2 months before the exam date in each case.
Requirements
- Valid occupational health examination for "work at heights with risk of falling"
- 16-hour first aid certificate (no more than 4 years old)
- Proof of at least 1 year of practical tree care experience with climbing and/or aerial work platform skills
- ETW climbing: valid SKT B certificate
ETW platform: valid HUB certificate (Module I + II)

Certificate & Recertification: The ETW certificate and the Arborist certification according to ONR 121122 must be recertified every 3 years. An expired certificate means that the entire exam must be repeated. All information on recertification can be found here.
