How it all began
The love for greenery and trees was always there for Marcel Kreitl, the founder of the Arbor Technical Institute Kreitl. Growing up in his parents' garden and landscape construction company, he established tree care early on as an independent area of focus.

The motivation was simple and practical: no more working in trees with a ladder and unsafe equipment. In search of a solid training in rope climbing technique, he found what he was looking for with our German neighbors. What he learned there, he wanted to pass on – and began offering rope climbing technique (SKT) courses in Austria together with colleagues.

That was pioneering work. Before the year 2000, there was no recognized training for arborists in Austria. Marcel Kreitl changed that.

Marcel Kreitl – who is behind it?

Marcel is today a fundamental part of the Austrian tree care scene – as a practitioner, trainer, and industry representative.

And his search for new challenges has not stopped to this day.

Our Team – Practice Meets Pedagogy

As the first and to date most successful tree care training institute in Austria, Marcel and his team have gathered a great deal of experience over the past decades – and we pass it on directly to our participants.

Our trainers and lecturers all come from professional practice. They are experts from the everyday professional world of tree care and industrial climbing. Through annual trainer training sessions, the team continues to develop pedagogically and professionally – there is no standing still with us.

We are proud of our company and training grounds. A great deal of time, passion, and investment has gone into their development and maintenance – so that both the tree care operation and the training center meet the highest standards.

With us, it's not just about the professional content: shared lunches, a relaxed atmosphere, and a casual end to the day are just as much a part of the course experience for us. We always have an open ear for the concerns of our participants.

Our Goal

To equip aspiring arborists with the tools they need for daily work – and to strengthen awareness of the tree as a living being and of nature. Based on the international state of the art, we set national standards in rope climbing technique.

We offer courses in Austria and Hungary – and are continuously working on further developments.

We have been a member of the OHRV – "Austrian Association for Height Safety Professionals and Riggers" – since 2018.
