TRAINING TO BECOME A EUROPEAN TREE TECHNICIAN
(TREE TECHNICIAN ACCORDING TO ONR 121122)
The Basic Concept
- ETW / Arborist according to ONR 121122 – valid certificate (or valid ISA Certified Arborist certificate)
- ETT – European Tree Technician / Tree Technician according to ONR 121122 ("master") – 5 blocks + certificate exam. Prerequisites: valid ETW or ISA Certified Arborist certificate, proof of at least 3 years of professional experience in tree care
ETT / Tree Technician according to ONR 121122 – recertification every 3 years. An expired certification means that the entire exam must be repeated.
What to expect in the training program
- The ETT deepens and expands the knowledge from the ETW to master level – professionally, technically, and commercially. Content overview:
- Advanced tree care: tree physiology, tree valuation, site factors, planting & species selection, tree care measures, work procedures, tree inspection & diagnostics (including drill resistance measurement, sonic tomography, wind load simulation)
- Practical procedures & site management: occupational safety & health regulations, risk assessment, organization & supervision, improvement of tree surroundings
- Business, law & social aspects: cost calculation & post-calculation, scope of work specification, business accounting, procurement law & tenders, laws, professional associations
To round off and refresh the training, we hold a Tree Symposium twice a year, as well as numerous additional courses and workshops throughout the year.
