Welcome to ATI Kreitl – what you should know before your course
So that you arrive fully prepared and your course experience is right from the start, we've put together the most important information for you.
Directions
By car
GPS: Marchfelder Straße 13, 2281 Raasdorf
Ideal connection via the A23 Südosttangente and the S2 Wiener Nordrand-Schnellstraße motorways.
Coming from Vienna: at the roundabout in Raasdorf, take the 2nd exit toward Leopoldsdorf, follow Bahnstraße for about 1 km, and turn left onto Marchfelder Straße before the overpass.
By public transport
From Vienna Hauptbahnhof (also accessible via U1), the regional train R81 runs hourly to Raasdorf – travel time approx. 25 minutes. Other access points: U3 Simmering, U2 Stadlau, U2 Aspern Nord. Our institute is located less than 5 minutes' walk from Raasdorf train station.
Smoking & Waste
As an arborist, nature is close to your heart – it's close to ours too. That's why we ask you to be mindful with cigarette butts and waste. Cigarette butts are highly toxic to the environment and pollute waterways, animals, and people. More on this: www.global2000.at/zigarettenstummel
Smoking is permitted with us only in these two spots – where ashtrays are provided:
- Under the outdoor staircase
- On the rooftop terrace
Please dispose of butts only in the ashtray – not in the parking lot, the courtyard, the hall, the railway cutting, or green areas.
For outdoor courses, the rule is: dispose of waste and butts properly – not in nature.
Meals
Please bring your own food. There is a bakery and a supermarket in Raasdorf. A refrigerator is available in the training room.
PPE – Personal Protective Equipment
You'll find detailed equipment lists for SKT, chainsaw, and aerial work platform courses, etc., on the respective course pages.
PPE inspections can be carried out by staff at the Freeworker Shop before the course. 📞 To schedule an appointment: +43 664 517 72 44
You can store your equipment with us overnight during the course week – the trainers will show you where.
Rental equipment for SKT A
For the SKT A course, there's the option to rent climbing PPE through Freeworker Austria – simply indicate this when booking. You'll receive complete equipment assembled according to our requirements.
Advantages of rental equipment:
- Get to know high-quality basic equipment (as-new & inspected)
- Test and compare various climbing harnesses in practical use
- Option to purchase the rental equipment at a discount at the end of the course
- A field-tested starter package for a safe entry into tree care
For SKT B, SKT C, and chainsaw courses, participants must bring their own complete and inspected PPE (personal protective equipment) including inspection record. Equipment rental is not available for these courses.
Your own equipment – please note:
- PPE must be inspected and documented by a competent person before the course begins
- New, unused PPE is exempt from inspection, provided it complies with applicable standards
- Annual PPE inspection including an inspection record is legally required (in accordance with ASchG – Austrian Employee Protection Act)
- The inspection record must be presented to the trainers on the first day of the course (Monday)
- Ascending devices must be approved for the Austrian market
- Rescue and emergency procedures for the ascending device used must be known
